The service
Pai connects riders with independent, verified drivers in Laos. The fare is shown and fixed before you book. Riders pay the driver in cash unless another payment method is offered in the app.
Riders
- Give the driver your pickup PIN only once you are at the vehicle.
- Treat drivers with respect. Pai may close accounts for abuse or repeated no-shows.
Drivers
- You must hold a valid driving licence, vehicle registration, transport permit and passenger insurance, and keep them current. Your account is suspended when a document expires.
- Pai charges a commission on each completed trip, shown in the driver app. Commission on cash trips is settled with Pai.
- While you are online or on a trip, keep the Pai Driver app open with the screen on. Pai only receives your location while the app is open, so you get no ride requests while it is closed or your phone is locked, and riders cannot see you approach.
Safety
Use the SOS button in the app in an emergency. It alerts Pai operations immediately. For danger to life, also call 1191 (police) or 1195 (ambulance).
